|
|
| Did the XOHM group get wise and close up the activation loophole yesterday afternoon? I'm in the DC area and have my account activated but can't get outside the XOHM.com domain. I understand service hasn't been 'officially' rolled out yet but is there a way to get on the network? I entered my DC address during sign-up process and a Baltimore ZIP, which got me through. I then changed my address in my account after activation to a Baltimore address. Let me know if there's anything I can do, would be much appreciated. Thanks |

| I was connecting and surfing in Dallas last night, so i don't think they've changed anything. Don't really think it matters but try changing your account address back to something that shows up in MD coverage area? |

I had the pleasure of testing both of the modems that are available for purchase and have been pulling down over 4 Mb speeds at times.
I am currently located in a South West Suburb of Chicago.
The network is here, however I believe they are testing for the device loses it's WWAN IP address just as fast as I connect at times.
I used the workaround that 4GInfo.com posted the other day to get connected;-) _________________ - Victor |

Well, I got good news. Just got home from work and I have access and can browse now. So I'm not sure... May have just took a long time to process my activation request or the system only does address verification at the current time on a daily basis. (Who knows...) Most likely one of those two things. I don't think it was specific to my area as I've heard from someone else on another site that was connected and browsing here in DC yesterday evening.
Took about 12 hours after activation to get my 'Welcome to XOHM' email. I got that around 11:30 today. When I checked this morning I had same results as last night and of course now I'm connected just fine. Ads to my extremely long activation theory. |

| I have to start up the connection manager than re insert the data card for it to work. Now on the home page for xohm it says that its an unknown wimax device. Do i need to activate it again on xohm home page? I am getting frustrated. |

You may need to call in to XOHM Support. They fouled up my pick 2 plan and charged me twice and still ONLY had my Xyzel Home modem activated on my plan. I have noticed I have had more issues with the express card itself.
I currently have it operating in a Mac Book Pro running 10.5.5 Leopard OS
May take a little patience for that card has to remain connected to the XOHM network in order to pull down some activation updates. Seeing that signal is spotty at current, it may just not be receiving that neccessary update to remain active. _________________ - Victor |

| Its hit or miss with the express card. The connection manager will find Xohm service but everytime it tells me to activate service. I have a receipt that shows what I ordered but it always brings me to xohm home page to activate my card, than I put in the mac address. It does this over and over. Very frustrating but I do realize that the service isnt active yet here in Chicago just using the work around. I might give it 30 days than Im going to send back the card and cancel the service. |

The first night I activated my modem is did this, it did it everytime I would move areas, like it wasn't activated on that particular tower or something. I have not had that happen again, it may take time for your MAC to broadcast that it's autorized.
I'm not saying, just saying... |

| I load up the connection manager and it will say no connection found and wants me to connect either to WiFi or LAN. Im going to let it rest for 24 hours and see what develops. |

Finally activated the express card and sent updates once it connected. The service so far in the heart of Chicago is terrible. It drops every few minutes and once it is connected the speeds are not so good. I will continue to test the card and give feedback. My Franklin usb modem (Sprint EVDO) holds connection 98% of the time while riding around in my car. The area that I drive is Roosevelt to the south, Division to the north, Cicero to the west and Western to the east.
