Does anyone know how to disable the router/nat with this device so I'll pass the public IP to my home Cisco router that I rather use. At this point it looks like its handing my Cisco a 192.168 address that I rather have an Public IP. Long story short disable routing alltogether with this device. Thanks,

I haven´t tried that set up yet but you may want to look at page 13 in the Modem User Guide. |

Yeah I did that, but it still hands out 192.168.xxx addresses. From what I can tell there isn't a way to disable the router alltogether. |

There is a ‘device support’ page on the XOHM website that should answer your question about the ZyXEL modem, at xohm.com/en_US/support/device-support/xohm-modem.html
If you aren’t able to find an answer there, call the XOHM customer support number: 1-877-333-9646. _________________ blog.xohm.com |

It is possible to disable all the NAT/routing functions of the modem, I did it yesterday. The trick is that you need to login to the modem as an "administrator" rather than a "user."
Logging into the modem as an administrator will expose all sorts of fun features such as more detailed signal information (in dB), full router configuration(LAN and WAN sides), you can enable the VoIP features, etc.
I wasn't able to access the Internet after I disabled NAT and DHCP (on the LAN side.) I was hoping that if I connected my computer directly to the modem after disabling those two Xohm's DHCP would assign my computer a public IP but it didn't work. I also tried manually assigning my computer a public IP but that didn't work either. I gave up at this point. I’ll try emailing tech support next.
The reason I want to disable NAT is because I'm having connectivity problems with the Nortel Contivity VPN client. The client will connect but then I need to launch Remote Desktop but the login page never comes up. I've tried using other Internet connections and it works just fine. There's something about this modem that makes that client (and RDP) not work properly. I've tested the Xohm modem with the Cisco VPN client w/RDP and it works just fine. General Internet access works fine too. I'm stumped as to why only the Nortel client doesn't work right. |

I don't want to post it publicly because I'm not sure if the password I have is unique to my modem or if it's a default password.
I can't send PM's because I don't have enough posts. Feel free to send me an email and I will share it with you. |

To access the administrator panel use:
Username: Admin
Password: 929356
I wasn't able to make Xohm work with my VPN nor was I able to get a public IP address. I tried contacting Xohm tech support but they were useless. When I called the technician didn't understand the difference between public and private IPs. I tried emailing them instead and I waited two weeks for a reply but they just ignored me so I gave up. I'm going to return the modem next week. Nice concept but it's just not ready mainstream use. |

| I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner but have you tried posting this on developer.clear.com or sending an e-mail to their twitter account (clearwire.twitter@clearwire.com) They seem to be two of the outlets for clear's more intelligent employees. |

Hello
wondering if anyone has some good experience with boosting WiMAx from Clear with the new Motorola modem? love to get some ideas.
Looked around at different hardware, and inductive coupling devices.
thanks for the reply in advance. _________________ Thx,

| No external antenna connections on the new Clear modem. The best signal booster is the corner reflector. You can build one using only a cardboard box, tape and aluminum foil. It has increased my signal around 9 db for an EVDO device at PCS frequency. It should also work with the Clear modem in the frequency range of 2.5GHZ – 2.7GHZ. Because of the higher frequency used by the Clear modem you may need to place the antenna end of the modem a little closer to the corner of the box than the two inches suggested for PCS (1.9GHZ) in the build instructions. Remember the box will need to point toward the Clear tower in most cases, experiment for best signal. http://www.sonic.net/~n6gn/corner.pdf |
