Clearwire will be updating investors on expansion plans in the coming weeks, said spokeswoman Susan Johnston.
Sean Maloney, head of sales at Intel said, “The current build-out rate for Clearwire is pretty fast”. (What build out, one city on the east coast and one on the west coast. He must know things we don't.)
Clearwire is looking for about $2 billion to close a funding gap so the build out can continue. Because of the economic down turn securing this funding has proved to be difficult.

My favorite quotes comes right after that:

"We can come back to whether it needs to be faster or not at some point in the next year or so..."

WTF? Two city deployments in 3+ years of hype on deployment?! I don't think they need to come back to it, I think they need to address it NOW

They also said in that article with the current cash infusion they have, they can keep going for a "period of time." OK fine, then deploy what you can. The more positive press you get from the additional deployments may unfreeze some of that capital for additional deployment. I don't understand why they don't see that. The days of easy capital is over if your product doesn't deliver.
