So, is this rampup -good- cuz it means progress is starting, or -bad- cuz it means if they're just now starting, it's gonna take the other side of forever to get a signal going??

AMA,
You are saying is the glass 1/2 full or is it 1/2 empty. Depends on your view or what you want to see. I just presented the data, it is up to others to speculate. Keep in mind that is only one slice of the Clearwire hiring data. At earlier dates job offers were in some other cities also. One could expect many positions have been filled. Also the listings at careerbuilder.com are for management and engineering positions, many more lower level jobs should be generated during the build out.
Any news coming out of Clearwire is meager. Back in the day when Sprint had control leaks were abundant.

And it already has a workforce in the these 50+ cities where Clearwire wireless technology uses its OFDM transmission protocol. Hopefully some of those (like Reno!) will upgrade too.

The economy has slowed fielding and the blending of Clearwire and Sprint's joint venture, so we'll undoubtedly be using our good old 3G data plans for a while. Here is a chat I had with a Clear.com CS rep today when exploring the the joint venture.

Ashley Jackson [1:54:21 PM]: Welcome to our real-time support chat. How can I help you today?
ebiz [1:54:21 PM]: 1. Clear.com is suppose to be the WiMax joint venture between Sprint and Clearwire. Is that not correct?
Ashley Jackson [1:55:14 PM]: That is correct.
ebiz [1:55:30 PM]: The Clear.com site does not offer service in the Baltimore area where 4G has been operational by Sprint. why?
Ashley Jackson [1:56:34 PM]: Clear does not have towers setup in this area.
ebiz [1:58:25 PM]: Since Clear is the JV btw Sprint and Clearwire, is it offering the same 4G plans as Sprint or is it not blending with Sprint 4G service?
Ashley Jackson [1:59:19 PM]: It is not blending together.
ebiz [1:59:49 PM]: Is there a map that shows in what cities Clear.com WiMax service is available?
Ashley Jackson [2:00:02 PM]: Since we're fairly new, we do not have a final coverage map posted on our site just yet. However, we are working to get one for you. You can check coverage by entering in familiar addresses that you go to frequently, though.
ebiz [2:01:25 PM]: Is Clear WiMax service available in any cities other than Portland, OR?
Ashley Jackson [2:01:48 PM]: We do offer in Atlanta, GA as well.

isamu,
You may be getting WiMax service quicker than 3 or 4 years in your area.
In past months Clearwire had positions posted on careerbuilder.com for the (Los Angeles/Orange County) area. I have read that Clearwire has plans to roll out service in LA and New York to cover the greatest number of customers in the shortest time. I have not seen a public release of the time line for the buildout and the leaks of insider info is lacking. Question
