Clearwire now offers a VOIP adapter to connect your standard landline telephone to the Clear Home Modem. The adapter costs just $15 and the service is $25/month (in addition to your choice of "home" Clear plans) for unlimited calling!

$25/month ain't cheap. My sister just signed up with magicjack for something like $20-ish per YEAR.

And, is worth considering that VOIP ain't always nearly as clear as a dedicated land line.

IMHO $25/month is cheap depending on the service you get. I have not heard good things about MagicJack unfortunately but depending on the quality of this adapter I would consider $25/mo to be very affordable.

On the other hand, most of us are using cell phones these days anyway so paying $25/mo or even $20/year for home phone service doesn't make much sense for a lot of people!
