|
I was with Clearwire for 2 years and recently got the new 4G modem from them as part of the conversion to Clear. After optimizing my Windows XP settings I could easily get 4-5 Mbps upload. After a few weeks I checked again and now my speed is barely 3M and my signal level has dropped off. It used to be 4-5 lights and now it is 3-4 with occasional dips to 2. I hope all this is temporary since 3M is not that much better than their old system. I tapped into the modem's web interface and it shows that their are three towers withing range. The best one hovers around -69 dB with the others around -78 to -88. This is similar to what I had on first connection but the top one was more like -63. I can't see anything in my line-of-sight to the tower that should be killing the signal.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems recently? Is the addition of more users going to keep reducing download speeds? I thought 4G was immune to that, more or less. |
