Sprint has put together a new mobile broadband plan that gives you access to both their 3G and 4G networks at the SAME price as their 3G plan, just $59.99/month! You get the same 5GB of 3G service plus unlimited 4G access - Sprint is essentially giving away their 4G service at no additional charge!

At that price, selecting a 3G/4G device and signing up for 3G/4G service instead of 3G-only service is a no-brainer, even if 4G isn't yet available anywhere you plan to use mobile broadband - as Sprint continues to expand their 4G network in the coming years, you'll be prepared with the appropriate equipment.

3Gstore will be carrying both the Overdrive and the U301 soon (both with service AND as a no-contract upgrade); if you'd like to be notified when they are available, email futureitems@3gstore.com!

Is this an market promo or the new rate? I started in Nov. with a market promo that was $59.95 and since it was a promo it wasn't eligible for any discounts.

If it is the new rate, is it eligble for discounts?

Jamus, unfortunately none of the mobile broadband plans are eligible for discounts - they classify all of them as "promo's" (regardless of how long they've been around or whether Sprint plans to end them or not).

I just picked up a U301 from Sprint in Alexandria, VA yesterday. Their base price remains at $59.99 however they said when 4G is officially rolled out in this market(June, I believe) that the price for NEW ACCOUNTS will increase by $20 per month.
