So I currently own a Sprint Overdrive & U301 and still have my Clear branded Motorola USB dongle. In doing some signal / throughput testing around Atlanta, I've discovered that both the signal and throughput of the Clear branded device is greatly superior to my Sprint branded devices...has anyone else noticed this?
A great example is my job in Smyrna, GA (small suburb of Atlanta). Inside our building, the Motorola dongle gets a full signal, and average throughput of 5-8Mbps...both the overdrive and U301 report a 20% signal via smartview and the throughput never breaks the 4Mbps barrier.
Is this just an effect of the Motorola device being a single-mode device with better signal sensitivity, provisioning on the Sprint side, or some mysterious dark WiMax force that I'm missing? lol |
