I've been out to eBay and I see that I can purchase U300's, but all of them are Sprint's U300. I want to get a CLEAR account, brand new to Houston.

Will I be able to configure the Sprint U300 to work on the CLEAR 4G network?

I really do not want to be locked into a 2 year contract, so I want to do a month to month contract. If I do that, I will have to purchase the modem. Trying to save some money...

Thanks,
Lamar

NO, you cannot activate a Sprint U300 on a CLEAR account (or vice versa). The serial numbers are locked to their respective carriers.

If you don't want to be locked into a contract, CLEAR does let you go month-to-month. They charge $224.99 for the U300. If you plan to buy one online, make sure you are getting a CLEAR-branded one, not a Sprint U300!

Thanks for the info. Not what I wanted to hear. Looks like the CLEAR network is forcing you to use a CLEAR modem. I guess there is a WiMax ID on the devices, modem or PC/netbook/notebook.

I guess if you are a Hacker, CLEAR will know where you're hacking from. Cool...

Thanks again for the info,
Lamar
